Kisutu Girls’ Secondary School, Dar es Salaam

Kisutu girls' secondary school formerly known as D.A girls' secondary school is a girls school located at the City center of Dar es Saalaam City.

It was built and owned by Indians for Indian girls students before Tanzania attained her independence in 1961. In the early 1970's the Indians handed it over to the government of Tanzania making its name to change from D.A girls' secondary school to Kisutu girls' secondary school.

Currently we have 420 girls students, 282 are in form five class while 138 are in form six class. Form five and form six students are considered as high school students whose ages range from 18-20 years old.

The students are enrolled to join Kisutu girls secondary school after they have successfully passed their ordinary level secondary school education examination, and choose Kisutu as their place for Advanced level secondary school education.

Kisutu girls secondary school was for ordinary level secondary school students until 2017 when the government decided to phase out ordinary level grils students for the aim of changing the school to become a school for Advanced level secondary school students (high school) only for girls who wished to study science subjects only. However, due to shortage of high schools in Tanzania, the government allowed the school administration to enroll both Arts and Science girls students.

Kisutu has been a leading school in both academic and extra curricular activities. Our school has a modern computer laboratory room making it for our students to embrace digital learning. In August 2019, we received 10 computers from Tigo Tanzania and internet facilities to enable both teachers and students to access ICT tools.
