Personal Biography

Owner, Amy Merda, has worked in the food service industry for over 25 years. She began her food service career as a dishwasher and worked her way up to Chef in various restaurants while simultaneously getting an Associate's Degree in Hospitality Management and a Bachelor's of Arts in Food Science. She moved from the kitchen to become a Sales Representative in a small food service distribution company and, after the birth of her daughter, continued her education; receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Upon completion of her degree, she began her career as a Food Service Director for a local school district with 6 fully staffed kitchens serving approximately 5000 students. During this time, Amy also worked part time as a Consultant Dietitian in a long-term care facility, and in her 8th year she began a shared service agreement with another district with 3 kitchens serving 2800 students. In 2014, Amy's passion for educating and inspiring people was manifested in the creation of FND Consulting Services.
