RULER Timeline
Year 1 | 2021-2022
Focus on teaching the Core Curriculum:
Teach the introductory lesson of each of the six RULER units.
Regularly incorporate Core Routines into the classroom environment
Teach 4 Feeling Word Units (1 from each quadrant)
Goals:
Explicitly teach RULER tools (classroom charters, mood meters, meta moments, and blueprints) using the RULER unit-introductory lesson only.
Regularly practice Core Routines in the classroom to practice using the RULER tools in action.
Acquire one new emotional vocabulary word from each quadrant of the Mood Meter.
Year 2 | 2022-2023
Focus on expanding the Core Curriculum:
Teach the introductory and intermediate lessons of each of the six RULER units.
Regularly incorporate Core Routines into the classroom environment
Teach 8 Feeling Word Units (2 from each quadrant)
Goals:
Explicitly teach and further explore the RULER tools (classroom charters, mood meters, meta moments, and blueprints) using the RULER units.
Regularly practice Core Routines in the classroom to practice using the RULER tools in action.
Acquire two new emotional vocabulary words from each quadrant of the Mood Meter
Year 3 | 2023-2024
Focus on expanding the Core Curriculum:
Teach the introductory, intermediate, and performance task lessons of each of the six RULER units.
Regularly incorporate Core Routines into the classroom environment
Teach 12 Feeling Word Units (3 from each quadrant)
Goals:
Explicitly teach, explore, and use the RULER tools in the school and home environment. .(classroom charters, mood meters, meta moments, and blueprints) using the entire RULER unit.
Regularly practice Core Routines in the classroom to practice using the RULER tools in action.
Acquire three new emotional vocabulary words from each quadrant of the Mood Meter
