Meet your Career Development Facilitator
Career Development Facilitator, All Middle Schools in Fort Mill
As the Career Development Facilitator for the six middle schools in Fort Mill, I am working to increase the exposure students get to career exploration as well as create opportunities to meet real-world professionals. There is at least one big event for each grade level. Typically the events for 8th grade are in the Fall, and 7th and 6th grade events are in the Spring,
My program is not about having students decide what they want to be when they grow up, but about understanding the importance of exploring options and setting them up for success when they are asked to choose high school classes based on their career goals.
Students have been told about the special opportunities they have in high school and know that in 8th grade they will choose a path based on their interests when they do their Individual Graduation Plan to create their schedule for 9th grade. I promote this by telling students to remember IGP means "I get to pick".
I love the opportunity to work with the students of Fort Mill!
