Policy and Procedures

• Open to students, staff, and parents during scheduled hours.

• Students in Grades K–2 visit on a fixed schedule; Grades 3–5 have flexible access with teacher permission.
  
  

Checkouts

• All students are encouraged to check out books each visit unless they have overdue or damaged items.
  
  

Procedure:

• Grade K–1: 1 book at a time
  
  

• Grade 2–3: Up to 2 books at a time
  
  

• Grade 4–5: Up to 3 books at a time
  
  

• Loan period: 2 weeks with renewals allowed if book is not on hold.

• Items should be returned by the due date to ensure fair access.
  
  

Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Materials

• Overdue notices are sent monthly.

• Replacement cost is charged for lost or irreparably damaged books.

• The cost of the book(s) is put on the student's pay fees account with the school district. 
  
  

Book Care Expectations

• Students are responsible for treating books respectfully.

• Keep books away from food, pets, and water.

• Use bookmarks instead of folding pages.

• Store books in backpacks or designated bins when not in use.
