NAME: Phillip Dell
Grade: 12th
Accomplishment: Acceptance to the Air Force Academy and Commits to Playing Division 1 Tennis!
From a very young age, Phillip Dell has loved the sport of tennis, and wanted to continue playing in college. It has been his dream to play in a Division 1 school, taking the court to play the best of the best in college tennis. That dream became a reality when he was accepted as a student-athlete to play for the Air Force Falcons. While taking FLVS courses, Phillip reached the top 100 in the nation in both boys 16’s and 18’s, and also won a state championship!
These results drew the attention of several Division 1 coaches, and Phillip, decided to play for the U.S. Air Force Academy as a result of a military background in his family and his patriotic enthusiasm. The acceptance rate at USAFA is less than 15 percent, so for Phillip, tennis evened the odds for him to play for the prestigious institution. FVHS is very proud! Best of luck to Phillip.
