See you at our next meeting!
Q. What is this "Stellar Student Spotlight" all about?
A. Stellar Student Spotlight is a place to highlight Current FLVS NHS Members who have achieved major academic or community service accomplishments. Each week a new member will be picked as the Stellar Student of the Week and their short story of accomplishment posted on the Student Spotlight page of the website for everyone to see.
Q. What exactly do you mean by "major academic or community service accomplishments?"
A. An Academic Accomplishment could be anything from getting an A on a Module or Semester Exam, to finishing a course ahead of schedule, to earning a high score on your EOC, or to getting a college acceptance letter or Scholarship.
A Community Service Accomplishment on the other hand is more precise in that it means the qualifying member has gone above and beyond the minimum service hours requirement of the NHS. Specifically, A Community Service Accomplishment could entail
Completing 20 or more hours of community service during a single semester
Or Completing 50 or more hours of community service during a single academic year
Or performing a distinguished and conspicuous act of bravery or benevolence (i.e. Giving back, helping a neighbor/community/business in time of need).
Q. And now for the most important question: How do I apply to the be the Stellar Student of the Week?
A. You can apply by filling out This form. Once we receive your form entry, we will review it, and if it is acceptable we will notify you via email of what week your story of accomplishment will be posted on the official FLVS NHS website.
