Welcome to First Grade!

I look forward to partnering with you, and celebrating your child’s success. It's going to be a year full of learning, growth, and fun adventures. Our program is designed to provide curriculum support for homeschool families. We partner with you to cover the Florida standards and successfully complete our courses. First grade is an integral year where our partnership is imperative to your child’s success. I will keep in touch regularly and I encourage you to do the same. In addition to the monthly contact, important reminders and updates will be shared. You can call, text, or email anytime.

Friendly Reminder

Teachers will respond to calls, texts, and emails within 24 hours Monday through Friday. Grading will occur within 48 hours. Teachers are out of the office on weekends.

Scheduling Suggestions

One of the perks of FLVS FLEX is getting to set up your schedule in a way that works best for you and your family. You can pick which days and time of day that works best for you. You even have access on the weekend! While you can set up your schedule in a way that works best for you, weekly work submissions are required in order to remain in the courses. You will want to follow the weekly planner/flipbook to complete each semester in 16 weeks for Langugae Arts and Math and 12 weeks for Science and Social Studies. You may work at a faster pace if you like, but students are required to be in the course for a minimum of 14 days. Below you will find a link to some sample schedules.

Work Submission Requirements

Students should consistently be engaged in their courses throughout the week to provide the best learning experience. If it has been 6 or more days since your last assignment, you are considered absent from your course. Students who go more than 14 days without submitting or are 5 or more weeks behind pace are at risk of being withdrawn from the program.
