I am a science teacher for the 9th and 10th grade team! I earned my B.S in Biology from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S Ed in Secondary Science Education from Hofstra University. I believe students learn science by doing science, and that my class is where my students will learn life skills that are critical for their success in college and future careers. I enjoy shopping, reading, watching movies, and K-dramas.

Hello everyone! My name is Mr. Rafi, and I am a Humanities teacher on Team Connections. I am from San Diego, California. I studied History at a university called UCLA in Los Angeles. I then worked at a school in Denver, Colorado before getting my teaching credential at Stanford University in the Bay Area. This is my second year living in New York, and I am loving it! I am passionate about helping my students feel confident in using English and learning about history. In my free time, I like to exercise, cook food, learn Chinese, play video games, and spend time with my wife, Valerie.

As an educator, I aim to provide each student with a wide variety of physical activities and challenges that will contribute to the development of each learners physical, cognitive , and affective well being. The goal is create a positive , active, and supportive atmosphere where all students can grow. Students learn to take control of their fitness levels and become informed consumers. The goal is to maintain healthy habits for a lifetime!
