Welcome to Coosa High School! This is not just a school I work at, this is a school that helped build me. I attended Cave Spring Elementary before coming to Coosa, where I graduated high school in 1999! Go Eagles!
This marks my fourth year at Coosa High School as an 8th grade Georgia history teacher.
Prior to teaching at Coosa, I worked as a middle school social studies teacher at Cedartown Middle School, where I taught both 6th and 8th grade history.
Before becoming an educator, I worked in the private sector as a disc jockey for South 107, Q102, WRGA and WTSH in Rome and Calhoun. I have also started several news and entertainment businesses around the area.
If you are sitting around the house on Fridays in the fall you can listen to my sports talk radio show on Georgia 101.7FM from 5:30-10pm .
So why the switch to becoming a history teacher? My love for history was sparked when I took history classes in Europe while in college. It was an awesome experience learning in such places as Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Over the past two years I have traveled to London, England, Paris, France, Santorini, Greece, Athens, Greece, Rome, Italy, Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, Mexico, and Belize City, Belize. I can't wait to share my love and experiences with my students!
As far as my educational background, I earned my associate's degree in marketing management from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and my bachelor's degree in education from Kennesaw State University. I am currently attending the University of Georgia and will graduate in December with my master's degree in Middle Grades history.
I look forward to having a great year and bringing history alive to each of my students!
My C stands for Clear eyes, full hearts, Can't lose!
