About me: Welcome to Coosa High School!
As a Coosa High School alum it is great to return to teach at my alma mater. This will be my eighth year teacher, making stops at Cedartown Middle and West End Elementary Schools. This marks my fourth year teaching Georgia History. I have earned my associate degree in marketing management from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and my bachelor's degree in education from Kennesaw State University.

Course Description:
Students in grade 8 will study aspects of Georgia Studies. Students will gain an understanding of the modern cultural and physical landscape of Georgia. Students will study topics stemming from prehistoric Native American cultures, the impact or European colonization, Georgia’s role in world and regional conflict, and Economics. Finally, scholars will examine historical events in the regions to determine how our government, nation, economic policies have been impacted by the aforementioned events.

Projects and Group Work
Students will have some special projects in each unit that relate to the subject. This project will be mostly in class, and may require special supplies for certain assignments. I will make sure and supply as much as I can for the students, and give parents plenty of notice when this project is assigned. A detailed rubric and plan will be given out ahead of time, and will be explained in detail in class before any work is assigned on the project.
