Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year - I'm so excited to be here with you all!
About Me:
My name is Jenny Wear and this year will be my 32nd year as an educator.
I’m coming to Model High School part time after retiring as the Instructional Assistant Principal of the College & Career Academy and as Dual Enrollment Coordinator for the county. I was also lucky enough to be the junior and senior counselor here at MHS from 2015-2020. This past year, I was the special education inclusion teacher in social studies classes at Rome High School, but now I feel like I’m finally coming home. The Model community is family and this is where I belong.
My undergraduate degree from Berry College is in Theatre Management, a degree that combined theatre and business. I have been actively involved with Rome Little Theatre since I was five years old, and I have done almost everything there is to do in the world of theatre from acting to stage crew to ushering to cleaning toilets.
When I'm not at school, you might find me at an Art Market near you - my husband Bill and I own a pottery business called Wearhouse Creations and we travel all over the place selling our work.
I'm also proud mom of Jack (a junior at MHS), Ryan, and Gabe (my two grown boys). I am also owned by Freddie and Lucy (pups) and a demon kitty named Soup.
The Program
I was trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to say about my hopes for this program, and I came up with this Statement of Purpose:
To support, promote, and enhance the educational theatre program by fostering a collaborative partnership between students, educators, parents, and the broader community.
That’s a lot of words to say that I want to help kids develop their creativity, confidence, collaboration skills, and appreciation for the performing arts through meaningful, challenging, and fun theatrical experiences—both onstage and behind the scenes.
