College Pre-Calculus is taught through Georgia Northwester Technical College in the Spring semester and gives students a chance to gain college credit as well as high school credit for FREE!
The course first introduces the concept of trigonometric functions. Then, we build on those by exploring their graphs and tying them to real world phenomena like predicting the weather throughout the year. Students learn to apply trigonometric relationships to a variety of triangles and learn to work with their inverse relationships as well to determine whether building certain structures is possible. We further extend these concepts into polar graphs that allow students to think about relationships in all directions such as sound being picked up by a microphone.
Because this is a DE course, lessons and assignments can be found in GNTC's Blackboard and Google Classroom.
