COVID-19 UPDATE: As of now the University System of Georgia and many other public and private colleges MAY require test scores for admission to Fall 2023. This is a fluid situation so be sure to check the admission requirements for each college you plan to apply to. The safe bet is to take one of these tests at least once. See below for information on when to take these tests.
When to take ACT and/or SAT? Plan to take one or both of these at least once near the end of 11th grade. Most students take one of these tests a second, or even third, time to try for higher scores.
SENIORS - be sure to register for tests no later than October or November if needed. December may be too late for some college admission deadlines!

The ACCUPLACER is accepted in place of ACT or SAT by many Technical Colleges such as GNTC and some two-year colleges such as Georgia Highlands (GHC). Be aware that some programs at GHC and other colleges may specifically require ACT or SAT scores for admission to those programs. Check admission requirements of the colleges where you plan to apply. See the counselors if you need help or have questions. The GHC Test Center is currently open Monday-Thursday, 9:00am - 5:30pm. Make an appt. online for testing. The GNTC Test Center is temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
