A Crucial Year for Building Strong Math Skills
This year is a key stepping stone for your child as they continue to build on everything they learned in third grade. One of the most important foundational skills for success in fourth-grade math—and beyond—is knowing multiplication facts from 1 to 12.
I cannot emphasize enough how essential it is for students to have these facts mastered. Without fluency in multiplication, many of the new concepts we cover this year will feel much more difficult and frustrating for your child. On the other hand, students who do know their facts are more confident, efficient, and successful problem-solvers.
In the classroom, I will provide regular practice, fun activities, and incentives to help motivate them. But I also need your support at home. Practicing with flash cards, using math apps, or even just asking facts out loud while in the car can make a big difference.
Together, we can help your child build a strong math foundation that will benefit them for years to come!
