Dublin 8
St. Patrick’s Cathedral St. Patrick’s Cathedral, located in the heart of Dublin, is one of Ireland’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1191, it stands as a stunning example of Gothic architecture and serves as the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland. The cathedral is named after St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who is believed to have baptized converts at a nearby well. Visitors can admire the intricate stained glass windows, the historic nave, and the beautifully maintained gardens. The cathedral also hosts a range of cultural events, including choir performances that highlight Ireland’s musical traditions.
EPIC is a unique and different museum: it took us on an interactive journey through the stories of the 70 million Irish emigrants around the world. The museum gave us a glimpse of Ireland through the experiences of the men and women of the past, through the Irish culture that they brought to every continent. The highly technological and fully interactive exhibits transformed the experience into a fun and educational journey to learn about Irish history, culture and people. Through 20 galleries we discovered stories of happiness and sorrow, love and loss, adversity and success that shaped Irish history; we got to know the Irish emigrants who became politicians, poets, artists and even outlaws around the world.
