Short answer, yes you do.
The only way to get faster, jump farther, and throw better is by practicing. Put in the work, and you'll get better. Like other sports, you need to commit to the sport and the team to get better. There is an attendance policy, and unexcused absences have consequences like any other team you would join. coaches understand that there are conflicts, but those conflicts should be the exception not the rule.
Preseason is not mandatory, but if you aren't doing a winter sport, it is highly suggested to get in shape prior to the season!
Yes you are.
If you are able to participate in another sport or a team and it won't conflict with practices and meets then it is not a problem at all. We WANT multi sport athletes. We want you to be apart of any and all sports that you want to be apart of. The calendar for the season is posted and you can see if your club schedule would interfere.
Yes!
The beauty of Track & Field is there is something for everyone for all levels.
The coaches are trained for this. We can watch you for the first week of practice and based on some factors we can guide you into what events you should try. If you have an idea that you want to jump, try it out and if you don't like it, move to something else!
Two.
You must practice and compete in a minimum of 2 events. If you would like to run AND do a field event, that is fine! You need to communicate with the event coaches to ensure you get the practice in each.
