I am currently learning about the basics of computer information systems at a program called Year Up. Year Up is a 1 year program that provides opportunities to young adults to excel in Corporate America. The program consists of 2 phases. The first phase, The LND (Learning and Developing) phase is 6 months long where students learn about the basics of IT and the expectations of a support specialist. The second phase is the internship phase, This phase is also 6 months long. During these 6 months we will intern with a fortune 500 company with the hopes of receiving a offer for an entry level position.
