Intermedia is the art and literary magazine created by Lewis F. Cole Middle School students for the entire student body. The magazine consists of ORIGINAL art work and literary pieces done solely by students. None of the work has been copied or duplicated.
Work which has been completed in school, as well as at home, is permitted for inclusion into Intermedia. One does NOT have to be “on staff” to submit work - if friends write, draw, sculpt, or paint something that you think should be included, please have them submit it!
Intermedia Art Club meets on Monday afternoons in the Art Room after school and Intermedia Literary Club meets on Mondays in Room 107
. Many days, the two clubs meet together. A schedule of meeting dates will be
posted outside the art room.
What can be submitted to the magazine? Short stories, plays, prose, music lyrics, rhyming and non-rhyming poems, shape poems, etc. are welcome, as are pencil drawings, charcoal, pen and ink, paintings, cartoons, three dimensional art, collage, abstractions, etc. In addition, on occasion, we accept foreign language pieces, originally written music, technology education
projects, as well as home economics projects.
For over
40 years, the Lewis F. Cole Middle School has won awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) for its outstanding work in Intermedia. CSPA receives over
400 plus entries each year from around the country for judging.
Intermedia i
