Korean uses 한글 (Hangeul) or Hangul alphabet as its writing system. Some people think hangul means the Korean language but it’s the name of the Korean alphabet letters. 한 (han) means ‘Korean’ and 글 (geul) means ‘letter’. And ‘Korean language’ (specifically, South Korean language) in Korean is 한국어 (hangugeo). King 세종 (Sejong) invented 한글 (Hangeul) and announced it to the public in 1446, and it has been the official writing system ever since. King 세종 (Sejong) invented this system, which was one of the many great things that he did for the country and the people, because he felt that it was not right for Korea not to have its own writing system. There are 24 letters in the Korean Alphabet : 14 consonants and 10 vowels. There are compound consonants and vowels too, but we form them by combining the basic consonants and vowels. Therefore, if you understand the basic consonants and vowels, of which there are just twenty-four, you can basically read everything in Korean.
(https://www.koreanclass101.com/learn-hangul/#1)Now please take a look the following alphabet chart of Hangul :
Do you still remember ABC song, both Bahasa and English have that song, in Korea they learn Hangul using Ganada Song, why ganada?Yup, it is because their first three alphabets are ㄱ g ㄴn ㄷd. Watch the videos from Korean Unnie below, she will bring you to your childhood. :)
You will not get improvement if you are not practice, for practice you can do both memorize and also writing. We will start with :
Single vowels
A sound in Hangul is ㅏ, since there is a rule that the word in Korea must start with consonant alphabet so we add ieung (ㅇ). Ieung is consonant alphabet which no sound if we add before the vowels, while if ieung is added after the other alphabet it sounds -ng, e.g: 사랑 (sarang). How to write Hangul? It is easy, you just start from up to bottom and left to the right for the priority. For example A (ㅏ), we start from ㅣ then -.
Double Vowels
Some of you maybe will confuse because you found that there are some alphabets that have similar sounds like 웨 / 왜 /외 or 애/에 and 얘/예 but its okay some as far as you memorize the vocabularies you will understand which word consist of those vowels.
Single Consonants
For some alphabets it has same sounds 'T' if it is placed at the end of syllables : 갓,갇,갖,같,갛 those sounds 'kat'.
Another special case is ㄹ, if it is placed before vowels it sounds 'r', if it is placed before consonants it sounds 'l' while if it is placed at the last syllable it sounds 'L', e.g : 가라 (kara) , 갈다 (kalda) , 물(mul).
Double Consonants
ㄸ, ㅃ, ㅉ can not be placed at the end of syllable.
Note : Syllable is the combination of two or more alphabets, 먹다
