Theatre III Ensemble is the highest level to be achieved through Troy's Drama Program. This class represents highly experienced actors, who have worked their way through the levels, and earned their place as Ensemble Members. During the school year, Theatre III presents the first production of the year, as well as have a opportunity to be a part of a Musical production at the end of the second semester.
Theatre II is the second class in the trilogy. In this class, actors continue to develop crucial acting skills through assignments such as two- and three-person scenes and monologue writing. Theatre II runs the second show, as well as having the choice of joining in the musical at the end of the year.
This class is an introduction to the theatre program. Theatre I develops the student actor through pantomime, improv, theatre games and scripted scenework. Students will create commercials on video and skits and scenes performed in class. Theatre I students will also learn aspects of Technical Theatre by helping build, paint and assist with the productions throughout the year and have the opportunity to audition for the spring musical as well.
The course is an exploration of the duties of stage technicians and their contribution to the total aesthetic effect of a dramatic production. Students will have opportunities for hands on experience with lighting design, sound design, set design, costumes and prop management, stage crew, stage managing, publicity, financial management and sound design.
