As a Career Technical Education (CTE) program, Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics relies on limited federal and state funding for sustainability. Our students need your help for continued growth of our program. They are mostly excited about earning highly sought after industry certifications and competing in regional, state, and national competitions. The certifications will jump start the students' careers right after high school while the competitions will strengthen their teamwork and leadership skills.
Your support can help provide the equipment needed for competitions and certifications. Every dollar donated, or item purchased, will directly affect every student in the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics program.
Monetary donations can be of any amount. Please make checks payable to "Buena Park High School" and write "ARM" on the memo line. These donations will help us purchase needed parts and/or equipment for the students to work on and use in competitions.
Small size donations can be any item(s) from the list below. Students use these parts in building their 6x6 Rovers and UAVs (drones). We reuse the kits each year; however, with time and use, some of the parts get broken or go missing. Therefore, we purchase replacement parts to make sure the kits are complete for each year's class. Each item is hyperlinked to its product page on the MINDS-i's website where it can be directly purchased. MINDS-i provides all the vehicles our students build. Anything, even small amounts, is greatly appreciated. This list will be updated as we receive the parts.
Medium size donations can be any of the below kits. These will range from $2,200 to $3,000 per item. With the popularity and growth of the program, we don't have enough ground vehicles for adequate size groups. Due to the numbers of Super Rover Kits on hand, we are sometimes having 5 students per group. Ideally, 3 or 4 is perfect for such projects. The below kits can be purchased in single units, and the count needed will be updated. Each picture is hyperlinked to its product page on the MINDS-i website. These can be purchased through our partner Klein Educational Systems.
Large size donations are reserved for equipment purchases. Due to the nature of our program and to the type of industry certifications we provide, students work on real industrial robots and scaled down machines. Although these are big investments upfront, they last for several years with minimal maintenance. The trainers our students work with can range from $5,000 and up. Students learn hands-on skills while using all of our trainers. Furthermore, students can earn their SACA Gold Certification and FANUC CERT certifications by testing their skills on selected equipment. You may reference our Certifications page for additional information. You may click on each picture for additional information on each product. The equipment currently needed, and pictured below, range from $25K-$60K. These can be purchased through our partner Klein Educational Systems.
Please keep in mind that the equipment listed is required for the certifications we provide. However, if you are a company able to donate a used or new CNC machine or 3D printer, even of a different brand, we greatly appreciate your support. They will be a great addition for our students to practice and perfect their machining skills.
FANUC is the leading industrial robot manufacturer in the world. BPHS is the only school in Orange County with a FANUC certified instructor. The LR Mate Fenceless CERT CART gives students the opportunity to work on a real robot as they earn their FANUC CERT Level 1 certification.
The Skill Boss Manufacturing 95-MSB2AB evaluates over 60 essential manufacturing skills. It is also the equipment used to Gold certify students in the SACA 101: Basic Operations. Having an additional Skill Boss allows students in Year 1 and Year 2 of the program to work on these machines simultaneously.
This Tabletop Mechatronics with the Pegasus Robot on a traverse axis teaches students how to connect a robot to a working station and program the two machines to communicate and work with each other. This skills is part of the Gold Certification in the SACA 102: Advanced Operations.
All medium and large donations qualify for LED Signage on our school marquee along Magnolia Ave and/or advertisement banners.
