In our third year as a SkillsUSA Chapter, Buena Park High School's Advanced Robotics & Mechatronics program had 4 teams medal in the Regional Leadership & Skills Conference and 3 teams medal in the State Leadership & Skills Conference.
At the 2024-2025 SkillsUSA California SLSC, 12 students (6 teams) competed against other regions in the state. One of our two Robotics and Automation Technology teams brought home the Bronze Medal, for the second year in a row. One of our three Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue teams took the bronze medal, a first for our program in this fierce competition. As a chapter, we earned Silver Chapter of Distinction, along with $1645 in incentive monies, an all around effort by our chapter officers and contestants. We are all proud of their hard work and achievements.

At the 2023-2024 SkillsUSA SLSC, our students competed against other regions in the state. Our Robotics and Automation Technology team brought home the Bronze Medal, a first for our program. Our Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue finished 6th, an improvement over last year. Our first year Commercial Drone Team finished 11th. As a chapter, we earned Gold Chapter of Distinction, along with $3000 in incentive monies, an all around effort by our students. We are all proud of their hard work and achievements.

Buena Park High School's Advanced Robotics & Mechatronics program joined SkillsUSA in the 2022-2023 school year. We had two teams compete in the Regional Leadership & Skills Conference in February of 2023. We are excited that both teams have advanced to the State Leadership & Skills Conference (SLSC).
At the 2022-2023 SkillsUSA SLSC, our students competed against other regions in the state. One team finished in the top 5 in the Robotics and Automation Technology. The other team finished in the top 10 in the Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue. It was a great experience for our students and an outstanding achievement for our chapter in its first SkillsUSA year. Buena Park High School was also presented the "Chapter of Distinction - Silver Level'' Certificate along with $2000 for successful completion of the Chapter of Excellence Program.
Erin and Stephanie placed 2nd out of 17 in their region and advanced to the State Leadership and Skills Conference to be held in April 2023. At state, they finished in the top 10 in a very competitive event.
