Program Overview
The Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics courses build on principles such as robotics, electronics, quality assurance, pneumatics, programming and automation. They provide content, skill development and leadership training to help students pursue further education such as industry certifications and a postsecondary degree. Successful completion of the courses will increase the student’s technological literacy and problem-solving skills, expose the student to career opportunities in technology and engineering, and provide opportunities for the student to learn and experiment with engineering design principles.
Maroun Nehme

My name is Maroun Nehme and I am the Advanced Robotics & Mechatronics teacher and program director at Buena Park High School. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Single Subject Credential in Mathematics from California State University, Fullerton. I have also completed a credential in Career Technical Education (CTE) in Manufacturing and Product Development. Prior to teaching, I spent over 15 years in retail and manufacturing and 6 years as a private Math tutor. In the classroom, I regularly utilize my work experience to bring real-life examples to my students which helps them connect to the lessons.
As far as my personal life, I am married to an elementary school teacher, and we have two school-age boys. As a family, we love going on road trips to National Parks, hiking, and visiting historical places. Personally, I enjoy solving complex problems and helping others maximize their potential.
