Bank Endorsement

If the shipment is a commercial shipment or is of high value, customs may require proof of payment (i.e. proof of remittance from your bank). A Bank Endorsement needs to be obtained from your bank.

The consignee is expected to have the import documents (Invoice of merchandise) endorsed bythe relevant bank that was used for transferring the payment

If there is no foreign remittance involved, an NFE Approval will be required in order to avoid paying any penalties imposed by Sri Lanka Customs.
