Unit 2: Selections and Localized Adjustments
In this unit students move from adjusting the entire image at once to editing specific 3
problem areas. Tools and techniques for masking and creating selections will be explored. These techniques will then be applied to compositing multiple images within a single file.

Matching exposure via curves, Matching color in a psd and a jpeg.
Part A: Take your dark exposure and your light exposure and match them to your correct exposure, using a curves adjustment layer.
Name your layers, etc.
Don't flatten anything
Title your files lastname_firstname_Assignment03_A1.psd (A2, A3)
Part B: Take a raw file in LR and modify its white balance so it's visibly off (but not totally insane).
Export it as a JPEG in sRGB at 100%, and open that file in Photoshop. From LR, open the raw file as a 16-bit Profoto psd in Photoshop.
Use Curves to try and make both of the files have neutral color again. Make sure you've named your layers, etc.
Don't flatten anything.
Title your files lastname_firstname_Assignment03_B1.jpg (and B2.psd)
Drop the files in a folder and call it lastname_firstname_Assignment03 -----
(if not completed and turned in during class, due at the beginning of next class)
Black and White and Color
Part A:
Take one of your landscapes from LR into PS and convert it to BW with a BW adjustment layer. layer names, organization, etc.
Make the sky dark so the clouds pop.
Make the leaves bright so they pop too.
Part B:
Take your portrait from LR into PS and convert it to BW with a BW adjustment layer. Layer names, organization, etc.
Mask off part of the layer so that a section of the image is in color again.
Title your files lastname_firstname_Assignment04_A.psd (and B) Don't flatten anything.
Drop your a folder titled lastname_firstname_Assignment04 you know where...
