The FSU Jazz and Modern Band "The Fitchbyrds" is open to all students and faculty of FSU who play ANY instrument. Our focus is providing a space where students can play together without restricting instrumentation. Working collaboratively, the ensemble chooses the music it wants to play, then creates their own arrangments which accomodate the instrumentation and abilities of the students.

 The Fitchbyrds perform many times each semester, including community performances in and around Fitchburg, music area concerts, and notable campus events.  Auditions may be required for rhythm section players.

There are an average of 2-3 performances per semester

Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday 11:00-12:15

Students must register for credit by adding MUSC 1810 to their schedules.
