FINGERPRINT-BASED CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION (“CHRI”) (BACKGROUND) CHECKS
It is the policy of the Fitchburg Public Schools that, as required by law, a state and national fingerprint criminal background check will be conducted to determine the suitability of full or part time current and prospective school employees, who may have direct and unmonitored contact with children. School employees shall include, but not be limited to any apprentice, intern, or student teacher or individuals in similar positions, who may have direct and unmonitored contact with children. School volunteers and subcontractors/laborers who may have direct and unmonitored contact with children must continue to submit state CORI checks.

The fee is $55 for staff who hold a position which requires a DESE license and $35 for those who hold positions that do not require a DESE license.
