FIS Safeguarding Code of Conduct for 

Visitors, Volunteers and Contractors

Welcome to FIS!  We hope you have an enjoyable visit to our campus. As you engage with our community, please refer to the guidelines below that are designed to safeguard our students and visitors.  

Please…

• keep your identification badge visible at all times.

• comply with the school’s emergency and safety procedures (e.g. lockdown and fire drill). 

• immediately report any potential hazards that may cause harm to a member of the school community.

• immediately report suspected or disclosed child abuse or neglect to the divisional school counselor or an administrator.

• maintain confidentiality of personal information, unless there is a need to report a concern.

• demonstrate respect towards other volunteers, contractors, faculty members, and students.

• use positive language and encouragement to guide students to make responsible choices and demonstrate appropriate behaviors.

• avoid physical contact with students unless absolutely necessary.

• seek guidance or clarification from a faculty member or administrator if you  are unsure of your role. 

• use toilets designated for visitors or adults only.

Please refrain from…

• discipline of a student - instead, immediately report any behavioral concerns to a faculty member or administrator.

• attempting to contact a student via social media or email, or making arrangements to meet outside of school.

• taking photographs or videos of children, or share photographs or videos on social media, without the prior permission of an administrator.                 

• Use of  inappropriate language or behaviors, including innuendos or remarks of a sarcastic, intimidating, discriminatory or offensive nature.

Restroom facilities for adults and visitors are clearly labeled throughout the venue.

For your convenience during the conference, we will provide extra signs to guide attendees to the appropriate restrooms.

In addition to our safety policy, we ask for your attention to our photo consent agreement. While on campus, you may be photographed or recorded as part of our event documentation. By filling in the following form, you agree to grant Frankfurt International School permission to use your likeness in photographs, video recordings, or electronic images in any and all of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration.
