A student wanted to investigate this so I said I would share it with everyone if he found interesting resources.
He wanted to know how special relativity can explain magnetic fields along wires. Some of this you do know - electron drift velocity, charges, current - so you can have a look if you are interested in an explanation of magnetic fields around current carrying wires.
