Members who would like to become a Research Group Leader show their interest and state their possible research topic.
Groups are formed by members choosing which research team they would like to join.
A Research Proposal is then filled out by the reach team, for which they need to find a Research Group Supervisor (preferably related to their field of study).
A material request then needs to be filled out if the group is in need of any experimental or research materials (for example books, MATLAB, and experimental equipment), which will be sent to the finance committee.
Then the Research Group can conduct its research, with the help of the head of the research institute.
Lastly, the Research Group is expected to present their research at the next FISSTC conference.
Groups of 1-4 students, with a designated leader.
The research group must present their research progress/results/achievements during one of the 2 annual science conferences (”Research at FIS and Beyond” or “Science Snacks for Summer”) either as a poster presentation or a 10 min talk.
Possible fields to research include: Maths, Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ESS), Computer Science, Human Sciences (Economics, Cognitive Science, Sports Science, Psychology).
Lab report write-up (100%/60%/40%/40%).
Strong interest in the field of research (prior experience highly recommended, though not necessary).
Investigation Topic: Diabetes and Alzheimer's - What is the relationship between diabetes and Alzheimer's disease by investigating the associated DNA sequences in patients with both conditions?

Investigation Topic: Business plans - What similarities in the business plan of Universal Studios theme park and Walt Disney World are shared and have resulted in the success?
Investigation Topic: Electronegativity - What is the relationship between the electronegativity difference of chlorine and metals (such as copper, calcium, barium and lead) and the standard enthalpy (𝜟H) of the reaction between hydrochloric acid and a metal carbonate of the same type, measured by a logger pro temperature analysis?
Investigation Topic: Gas laws - How does temperature affect volume?
Investigation Topic: Cell capactity - How do different factors (temperature, chemical structures, etc.) affect the battery capacity?
Investigation Topic: Luminoral intensity - How does the luminoral intensity change in the blood as the time changes?
