owner & Therapist at Finding Light Therapy
I created Finding Light Therapy in 2019 when I decided to begin my journey to building a space for people that wanted to be heard, encouraged, and empowered to be themselves. I believe that we all make mistakes and should have the ability to develop and grow into better versions of ourselves. Many of us are experiencing burnout, exhaustion, relationship struggles, grief, or going through life transitions. I want my clients to feel like even on their darkest days, they can find a little bit of light to help make the day a little brighter--just like my favorite flower, the sunflower.
I work with individuals 12 and older as well as with couples and families. I have worked with a variety of issues including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, life transitions, work/career issues, communication difficulties, ADHD, pain management, substance abuse, infertility, and infidelity.
I utilize a variety of approaches such as solution-focused, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy to aid my clients in meeting their goals. I want to work with my clients to learn where improvements could be made and to teach healthy coping skills and boundaries, and to not have to feel guilty for choosing you when you need to.
I earned a M.S. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I hold a Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor License, I'm a board approved supervisor of Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors, and I hold a Nationally Certified Counselor credential. I have seven years of experience working with children, adults, families, those with addictions, and individuals in and released from incarceration.
I believe that we all have a purpose in life and that our actions do not define who we are. We are all worthy of love and a chance to improve ourselves if we choose to take it.
