Monthly LGBTQ+ History Brunch at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church
Celebrating Queer History, Community, and Conversation in the High Desert
Hosted monthly at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church in Hesperia, the LGBTQ+ History Brunch is a warm, inclusive gathering where community members come together over food, storytelling, and history. These brunches celebrate the resilience, contributions, and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals, with a focus on often-overlooked narratives from the High Desert and beyond.
Each month features a new topic or guest speaker—from local elders and historians to artists, activists, and allies—offering reflections on queer history and its relevance today. Attendees share a meal in community, engage in open dialogue, and help build a deeper understanding of the past to empower the present.
Founded as part of St. Hilary’s ongoing commitment to radical welcome, affirmation, and social justice, these events are free and open to all, regardless of faith background. They reflect the church’s mission to be a spiritual and cultural home for LGBTQ+ people and their families, creating space for healing, visibility, and belonging.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the area, the LGBTQ+ History Brunch is a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and honor the stories that shape our collective journey.
