Read and Lead

Read and Lead, Discovery's home reading program, is sponsored by our PTO (Parent Teacher Organization).  During the program, you and your child will read aloud to each other every day at home.  Research shows that one simple activity--reading aloud--is the best way to prepare children for learning to read and to keep them reading as they learn and grow.  When children become good readers in the early grades, they are more likely to become better learners throughout their school years.    For additional information, contact your child's teacher. 

Start Dates

1st & 2nd Grade:  October 1 

Kindergarten:  November 1

Final Celebration:  June 5
