As part of this unit, we need to get an understanding of how crime is being reported within our local authority area (that's Fife).
To understand the level of crime, we need to investigate how recorded instances of crime stack up against other local authority areas and how the numbers change over time.
From the chart, Fife is fairly 'mid-table', we're not the most criminal nor are we the least!
In terms of averages, Fife is below the Scotland-wide average of 453 recorded crimes per 10k population, sitting at 383/10k according to the 2018/19 statistics.
A full breakdown of the types of crime by local authority can be found HERE (and you can also get the full 2018/19 report as a PDF)
