MEET CHICAGOLAND'S POLLINATORS
Pollinators are animals that move pollen from one part of a flower to another flower. This allows the flower to be fertilized and as a result a fruit with seeds will grow. Chicagoland's pollinators include thousands of insects and some birds too. In other parts of the United States pollinators can include mammals, like bats. The majority of our food grows with the help of pollinators, so they're important to our ecosystem and we need them too. Click on the pollinators below to find Field Guides, blogs and other resources.
