POLLINATOR & NATIVE PLANT RESOURCES

Welcome to the Field Museum's one-stop shop for native plant and pollinator resources focused on the Chicago Wilderness region. You will find our Field Guides and blog posts mixed in with other tools we find invaluable to learning more about the wonders of our local, natural world. Resources include beginner's guides and information for those interested in starting a native pollinator and plant garden, and information that even the more seasoned naturalist and gardener will find useful too.

WHO WE ARE & WHERE WE WORK

We are members of the Monarchs & Pollinators Initiative that is housed within the Field Museum's Keller Science Action Center. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of ecologists, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) analysts, environmental social scientists and community engagement specialists.

The vision of the Field Museum's Monarch & Pollinators Initiative is that monarch and pollinator populations thrive and are supported by community engagement, conservation practices, and transformed urban lands made up of functional, connected habitat in the Chicago region – for the benefit of all people and pollinators.

Our work is focused in the Chicago Wilderness region, an area that covers the southwest corner of Lake Michigan, up from southern Wisconsin down to the northwest portion of Indiana. Much of our team's focus is in the city of Chicago, the Calumet region, and Pembroke Township.

We hope you find this website useful and stay in touch!
