America In Bloom: Growing a More Beautiful Fairport Harbor

In 2024, Fairport Harbor joined America In Bloom (AIB)—a national beautification initiative that celebrates and supports communities committed to enhancing their natural, cultural, and civic environments. By 2025, Fairport proudly became an official America In Bloom Village, solidifying our shared commitment to continuous growth, sustainability, and community pride.

In July 2025, the Fairport Harbor Opportunity Development Corporation (FHODC) had the honor of hosting representatives from America In Bloom. Their visit included:

• A full tour of our village, exploring public parks, green spaces, and residential areas

• Lunch & Learn at the Fairport Harbor Public Library to share insights and connect with the community

• Meeting with several key community members including Village Administration and the Service Department
  
  

Throughout their stay the consultants gathered valuable data and observations, culminating in a comprehensive report delivered to FHODC in September 2025—just ahead of AIB’s National Annual Symposium. This report highlights Fairport Harbor’s strengths and opportunities for improvement, providing a roadmap for continued growth and enhancement.

Moving forward, FHODC will review the report findings and collaborate with village leadership to prioritize projects and initiate new beautification efforts inspired by AIB’s recommendations. Funding for these initiatives will come through FHODC’s project-based fundraising and grant programs, ensuring sustainable progress for years to come.

Together, through America In Bloom, Fairport Harbor is cultivating a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant community—one project at a time.
