About Our Club
About Our Club
Pioneer Robotics was founded in 2018 as an extracurricular activity to give students the opportunity to apply and extend their learning in real world engineering and computer science problem-solving. The club focuses on developing the skills and assembling the resources to compete with teams from schools throughout Arizona in the annual international FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition. In addition to designing, building and programming a robot that operates autonomously and by remote control for game play with and against alliance partners, the club is actively engaged in community outreach and service activities.
Our Service Projects include:
Printing and distributing more than 650 face shields to schools and doctors' offices during the Covid 19 pandemic
Adapting robotics materials and developing software to make full participation accessible to district elementary special needs students.
Creating the award winning "Print Ready!" science unit to integrate 3D modeling and printing into the elementary life science curriculum.
Providing training for teachers to implement 3D printing activities at their schools.
Mentoring district FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL) teams.
Supporting FLL in Southwest Arizona by hosting and staffing the annual regional tournament.
Sunrise Drive School was one schools that reopened for in-person learning.
