Welcome to the heart of Cultures in Connection – A Journey through Differences! This exciting project was born from the desire to build a real bridge between two geographically distant but culturally rich worlds: IIS Ferraris-Fermi in Verona, Italy, and the St. Maximilian Education Center in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Through this unique exchange, we aim to overcome distances and celebrate the richness of diversity, fostering mutual understanding and friendship among young people.
The true engines of this project are the students and teachers from the two schools involved: IIS Ferrais Fermi (Italy) and ST Maximilian (Tanzania). For this first pilot year, a selected class from each institution will be the protagonist of an unrepeatable educational and human experience. Together, they will work on collaborative online activities such as thematic video conference workshops, the creation of a shared Padlet for articles on traditions and curiosities, and the production of audio/video podcasts that will tell stories about their daily and school lives. This cultural and educational twinning is a unique opportunity to grow together, learning from one another.
The Objectives: Connect, Learn, Grow
"Cultures in Connection" sets out several key objectives. First, we aim to promote mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue, breaking down stereotypes and building new perspectives. Another fundamental pillar is the improvement of English language skills, used as the bridging language to facilitate communication and learning. Finally, the project aims to support the personal and social growth of all participants, encouraging them to explore crucial themes such as the beauty of cultural diversity, the role of language in connecting people, human rights education, and environmental sustainability. All materials produced, from presentations to recordings of the final "Culture Day," will be collected on this website to document our shared journey.
