PROBE News

We know that this is a challenging time for our students and their families. Please remember that we are only an email away. If there is anything we can do or provide, please don't hesitate to contact any PROBE teacher. We miss you and hope all is well.

PROBE will be virtual for at least the 1st Quarter. Classes will begin the 2nd week of school, starting September 8. Emails with zoom links from your child's Probe teacher will be sent closer to our start date.

Curriculum Night will be a virtual event and be held on Wednesday, September 16th. Emails with details and zoom links will be sent to you.

GSN (Gifted Support Network) is still having their parent support groups, but they will be on Zoom. Their next meeting is August 17th at 7:00. Click here to learn more.

GSN also offers a Speaker Series. These events are free and are presented through Zoom. The next topic is "Transitioning to Middle School and High School". It will be held on September 15th at 7:00pm. Click here for more information.

PROBE 20-21 Teacher and Building Assignments

Due to the current global pandemic situation, PROBE will operate differently for the 20-21 school year in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.

PROBE will be a virtual experience for the 1st quarter of the school year.

The PROBE teachers have been assigned to the FFSD elementary buildings. PROBE students at those buildings will get their gifted services with that teacher.

While serving students Virtually, students will receive 150 minutes of Synchronous learning with Gifted Instructors a week. Students will also have Asynchronous activities that they may work on independently.

PROBE 3-5 grade

Mrs. Susan Cloud will be working with Robinwood, Berkeley Elementary, BTC(5th), Sacred Heart and OLG students.

Ms. Karen Doering will be working with Combs, Griffith, BTC (3,4), and NCC students

Mr. Michael Vordtriede will be working with Halls Ferry, Lee Hamilton, St. Rose, and HomeSchool students

PROBE 2nd grade

Mrs. Bea Wilmering and Mrs. Susan Luebbers will be working with all the FFSD Primary Elementary schools to identify 2nd grade Probe through the Gifted Testing process. This process will include testing the students that were apart of the 1st grade firecracker groups from last year. They plan to have 2nd grade Probe students identified and start serving them by 2nd quarter.

Firecrackers 1st grade enrichment

1st grade enrichment Firecracker groups will begin 2nd quarter. After all 2nd grade testing is completed. Mrs. Bea Wilmering and Mrs. Susan Luebbers will be working with these students as well.
