Countdown to FelMUN 2026!
Welcome to FelMUN '26
Message from our Secretaries General
This year, we have decided to choose the theme of striving towards social justice. This issue is a significant challenge in many countries around the world today and one that I believe is truly important, as social justice entails issues such as wealth inequality, resource distribution and equal opportunities. Together, we aim to explore effective strategies to combat the issues that prevent us from having a socially just society and identify new pathways toward a more equal and balanced society and carry these ideas beyond the conference into our daily lives. Mercedes
We are witnessing the zeitgeist sadly shift on this issue which is putting many communities in danger and it is my duty to use my privilege to stand up and work together for what's right in the world. If we can have ideas to stand up for refugees, ethnic minorities, the poor, the lgbt, women, and so on then it should inspire us to stand up for what is right and make actual action happen after the conference. Henry
It is extremely important for us to use our own privilege to help stand up and represent those who feel disenfranchised and isolated in the current political landscape and it is my duty to help reduce inequality whithin society and use my platform to help to encourage and inspire people to stand up and speak for the voiceless within our world in order to actualise real change. This year we are supporting one of our school charities, the Felsted Mission, it plays a crucial role, in the local community in Newham to support the most vulnerable from providing food and shelter.
The Felsted Mission was founded in the Mid 1800s by an Old Felstedian to help tackle the deep poverty in the docklands. It has since grown to a lively centre and provided people from a range of backgrounds a place to connect and support. The Mission strongly beliefs in striving for social justice and organise various events such as the annual nightshelter to provide a shelter, warm meals and resources to help people get back on their feet as well as organising sports clubs for local kids to have access to sports and exercise opportunities.
This year we are headed up by our Secretaries General, Henry F, Mercedes RPL and James D. All students bring with them a range of experience and it is thanks to them that we can enjoy FelMUN'26.
