WELCOME TO THE FRANCIS DOUGLAS MEMORIAL COLLEGE PLANT NURSERY

Our nursery is located in New Plymouth on our school grounds, including a 26 hectare school farm. We propagate and grow a range of plants, trees and shrubs which are supplied to the Taranaki community for planting projects of all sizes.

We sell our plants online and in our school nursery.

Our stock is competitively priced, and includes a selection of native and exotic plants and small fruit trees.

WHY US?

We eco-source our cuttings and seeds from our own school farm and the surrounding area. Eco-sourcing is often used in restoration projects because locally sourced plants are thought to be more likely to survive than those from further away. This is because species are often better adapted to local conditions.

We are passionate about providing education in sustainability for the students at FDMC. All students involved in our programmes are involved in one way or another in the nursery. The tasks vary all year round and provide valuable life skills for young men as well as provide a great product at a great price to our community.

All proceeds of the nursery come back into our College to continue our high quality education programmes within the primary industries for all our young men.
