Grows throughout NZ and are common in gardens. Grows best in mild climates.
Can grow up to 25m.

Decorative white flower. Plant in clumps in your garden or beneath a canopy of tall trees.

Tenax only. Evergreen. NZ native. Very hardy. Large root system is good for erosion control on banks and bunds. Used in riparian planting and in coastal gardens.
Nectar produced attracts birds and butterflies. Tolerant of dry, cold and exposure.

A versatile NZ native and one of the most popular hedging shrubs, known for its large, glossy green leaves and dense growth habit.
Bears small, inconspicuous flowers followed by colourful berries that are attractive to birds. Hardy; tolerant of drought and coastal conditions.
Left untrimmed, it becomes a round-headed tree that can reach upwards of 10m in sheltered locations.

A NZ native evergreen shrub with large purple flower spikes that appear for most of the year.
Hardy, tolerates periods of drought and perfect for growing in coastal locations. Thrives in full sun where soils are free-draining.
Usually grows to about 1.5m both in height and width.

A native NZ shrub that has silvery leaves and produces small red flowers.
Karo grows well on exposed cliff areas, rocky soil and will thrive around coastal areas.
Flowers from August - October. Fruits from September - August

One of the most attractive native tree specimens available. With its glossy, palmate green leaves, and growing with a rounded spreading canopy, Pūriri is an excellent shade or specimen tree.
Evergreen tree. Flowers are produced year round followed by red fruit which are very appealing to the Kereru (Wood pigeons).
Plant in full sun to part shade. Frost tender when young. Hardy once established. Thrives in rich, moist, yet free draining soil – dislikes wet feet.
Grows to 15m high x 10m wide.
Pittosporum tenuifolium

Black Matipo. An evergreen NZ native tree. The leaves tend to vary in size and shape as a result of regional differences but in the main are green-blue.
It is commonly included in coastal gardens, trimmed into a hedge, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, planted for shelter or screening, or included in native revegetation exercises.
Mature height is 3-5m tall and 1m wide. Can clip to any height.

A NZ native popular for its colourful flowers throughout winter and spring.
This hardy plant has been bred for its ornamental value in home gardens with flowers in pink, white or red, against contrasting bronze foliage.
Great for coastal or windy sites, native borders and can also be grown in containers. Great for attracting bees to the garden and is one of the main sources of nectar for Mānuka honey.
Mānuka is a tree and grows 6-8m tall.

Also known as NZ mahogany. A handsome coastal tree. Easy to grow and works well in a variety of situations and moisture levels.
Large glossy green leaves and sweet-scented, orchid-like flowers grow straight from the trunk or large branches. Kohekohe flowers are an important and favoured source of floral nectar for tūī, bellbird and hihi. The fruit is a great source of food for a range of birds, such as kererū and kōkako.
Can reach a maximum height of 15m in a sheltered position.

An iconic native tree, known as NZ's Christmas tree, it is a hardy and vigorous grower known for its beacon of bright red flowers which arrive around Christmas.
Grows up to 10m tall and 10m wide.

Geentys Green - has a larger light olive-green leaf and prefers full sun.
Native shrub, evergreen. In Spring they produce clusters of small star-shaped yellow blossoms, followed by red berries in autumn.
Prefer forests and rocky areas, and suitable for coastal locations. Prefers sun or light shade, reasonably well drained soil, and moderate watering.
Grows 2m x 1.5m. An upright form. Can plant as a single or great as a clipped hedge or to provide low shelter.

Produces beautiful white scented flowers in summer or autumn. Quick growing native tree. Grows well as a hedge line.
Habitat is coastal to mountain. Prefers moist soil but will tolerate most soil types.

A hardy iconic NZ tree. Grows just about anywhere except the coldest regions.
Attractive to pollinators and birds. Flowers early to mid summer, fruits mid summer to early autumn.
Medium to rapid growth rate, 4m after 5 years, 10m when mature.
Hebe salicifolia

White hebe. A fast growing large spreading native shrub. Provides good low shelter and is an excellent revegetation plant. Flowers in summer. Showy white to pale lilac drooping flowers and willow like foliage.
Needs full sun and a sheltered area with moist well-drained soil, but very hardy to frost and drought once established.
Grows to 2m high x 2m wide.
