Animation is a method in which pictures are manipulated to appear as moving images. Limited animation is a process that does not redraw entire frames but reuses common parts between frames.

Background - the area or scenery behind the main object 

Dimensions - the width and height of the background/animation - we will always set the dimension of the background at 1200 x 600 pixels

.jpg, .jpeg - an image file that is compressed to a standardized format 

.png - a type of image file; works well on top of other images

Stickfigure - the object that is being manipulated to appear as though it is moving 

Frame - a single complete picture in a series forming a movie, television, or video film

Speed - the number of frames that appear per second; limited animation fps (frames per second) is usually about 12

.gif - the acronym GIF most commonly refers to a short animation without sound

.mp3 - file format for storing audio, format compresses a sound sequence into a very small file

.mp4 - file format that holds audio, video, images, and animations
