Topics of Study
This year, students will work through eight topics of study, which will fully prepare them for Pre-Calculus.
Graphing Functions. Students will review graphing topics from Integrated Math 2. This will include parent functions and basic transformations with a focus on absolute value and quadratic functions.
Writing Equations. Students will write equations based on real world scenarios and apply their understanding of quadratics and systems of equations.
Polynomial Functions. Students will do an extensive study of polynomials including basic operations, factoring, end behavior, and graphing.
Rational Exponents and Radical Functions. Students will understand the connection between rational exponents and radical functions and use their skills to simplify, solve, and graph radical functions.
Sequences and Series. Students will explore patterns in sequences and series to write equations and solve real world problems.
Exponential and Logarithmic Function. Students will explore exponential and logarithmic functions by graphing and solving complex problems.
Rational Functions. Students will simplify, solve, and graph rational expressions and equations.
Trigonometry. Students will learn basics about trigonometry including radians/degrees, coterminal angles, unit circle, evaluating, and graphing.
Statistics. Students will explore normal distribution, data collection, and confidence intervals.
