Due to a limited number of positions for the Spring School, all of those interested in participating in the school should submit a short CV and a letter of motivation comprising some information on how the topics covered in the school relate to their own work, and how the shool will benefit their involvement on the X-ray Spectrometry community. The letter of motivation should be submitted along with the registration in the EasyChair conference manager.
School participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation at the poster session on wednesday. If you want to participate in the school or workshop but do not want to submit an abstract, just write your name on the EasyChair registration mandatory fields "Title", "Abstract" and "Keywords". The posters should be prepared in A0 portrait format. Please refer to this template to see the maximum possible size.
EXSA will support, via travel grants, a limited number of young scientists to help them participate in the Spring school on Quantitative methods in X-ray spectrometry, Lisbon, Portugal, May 2019. EXSA will allocate up to 400 € (subject to available funds) to graduate or postgraduate students working in the field of X-ray spectrometry in a European university or scientific research institution.
Applicants for grants need to assure, that no other funds are available to cover their travel costs.
Grants will be issued subject to the quality of the student application (including a complete CV and letter of motivation to attend the school) and contribution to the poster session, the acceptance at the Spring school, and the available funds. It is expected that the grantees submit a short report about their stay at the EXSA event for publication to organs of the EXSA. The Jury’s decision will be final. Letters of invitation will be sent upon request to quant2019@exsa.hu. The title of your invited talk or contributed poster will be specifically mentioned in the letter. Both an electronic copy and a hard copy can be requested.
