Information for Exhibitors

The 1st Conference on Potentially Toxic Elements – from environment to Man (PTEs2020) will take place in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, by the end of the city’s festivity season in June. The PTEs2020 conference aims to bring together experts from academia, laboratories and industry to discuss the occurrence and detection of potentially toxic elements and substances and its implications in the environment, food, pharmaceutical and industrial materials and human and animal health.

This conference follows two previous workshops organized in Caparica (2016) and Lisbon (2011) dealing with the interdisciplinary detection of heavy metals, now targeting a broader action on detection, analysis and monitoring of Potentially Toxic Elements (PTEs) and substances in the Environment and Society, towards the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

The scientific topics to be discussed include:

• Environmental analysis:
  • atmospheric pollution,
  • water quality.
• Geological analysis:
  • soil contamination,
  • mineral exploration.
• Biological and biochemical applications:
  • PTEs in biochemical phenomena,
  • Nano Particles and toxicity.
• Food analysis:
  • quality control,
  • food processing,
  • contamination.
• Industrial and pharmaceutical applications:
  • quality control,
  • contamination.
• Clinical and biomedical applications.

The spectroscopic and analytical techniques to be explored are:

• Atomic and Plasma Spectrometries (AAS, AFS, ICP OES, ICP-MS, GD, LIBS, etc.); X-ray spectrometry (XRF, XRD, XANES, etc.),
• Molecular Spectrometry (UV-Vis, Raman, NMR, IR, etc.),
• Ion Beam analysis techniques (PIXE, PIGE, NAA, etc.),
• Hyphenated Techniques, speciation analysis and metallomics (LC-FTIR, LC-NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS, CE-MS, etc),
• Computational Spectroscopy.

The conference venue is the beautiful auditorium of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Lisbon in the center of the city. The exhibition stands will be placed in the common foyer of the auditorium entrances, integrated with the poster and coffee-break area. This provides an exceptional meeting point for exhibitors and conference participants, facilitating the interaction and knowledge exchange. The exhibition area can be assembled and disassembled on the first and last days of the conference.

To enhance the visibility of industrial products, the organizers have reserved one afternoon session for oral presentations given by industrial exhibitors. They will be followed by a break, where a company’s contributed aperitif can be served.

The list of exhibitors will also be included in the printed conference programme and on the conference web site together with a link to the company’s website.

If you are interested in participating in the conference as Exhibitor, please fill out the “Exhibition Registration Form” and send it with an attached logo as a jpg file to PTE2020@campus.fct.unl.pt.

The company needs to supply the name of the participant for the free Conference Fee, because this name will be registered in the Invoice/Receipt.

Additional participants will have a reduced Conference Fee. Only one company per table will be accepted.

The Conference Fee includes:

Attendance of all Conference Sessions; Conference Bag, contents and Book of Abstract; Welcome reception; Conference Lunches; Coffee Breaks; social program.
