Collaboration with NGOs

Besides my work at the lab, I am a volunteer at the European Federation of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis associations, at the Spanish National Association of Crohn's a Ulcerative Colitis Patient's Association (ACCU España) and at the regional association (ACCU Extremadura). I am a board member of ACCU ESPAÑA since May 2015 and board member of ACCU Extremadura since 2013. I am also member of the Portuguese Association of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis associations (APDI).

EFCCA

EFCCA is the European Federation of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis Associations (EFCCA) is an umbrella organisation representing 36 national patient associations. EFCCA aims to improve the quality of life of the over 10 million people living with IBD worldwide (3.4 million in Europe alone) and to give them a louder voice and more visibility.

I have collaborated with them in a mutitude of times. Rising the awareness of people with IBD but also in projects were they needed specialized expertise. This includes: Participation in IBD202 global forum for IBD professionals and patients quality of care; preparation of guidelines for patients with IBD with the aim to help them to understand the latest clinical research and to provide them with valuable information on their disease; Innovative medicines-Mapping project that try to understand the degree of biologics and biosimilars to penetration in the market in each European countries as Patients Advocacy meetings in hosted in Barcelona and Rome in the last years.... etc

ACCU ESPAÑA

ACCU ESPAÑA is a federation of patient's association from SPAIN working as a non-profit organization supporting and defeating patient’s rights suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Our federation was created in 1987 and joins 34 national regional groups with more than 8000 members.

Our aim is to promote an improvement of the quality of life of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), raising the awareness of our society about the problems of patients suffering these diseases (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis):
