School-based Mental Health Services
What is School-based Mental Health?
Franklin County Schools understands the importance of a successful education. Research shows that children who are struggling with emotional or behavioral issues often struggle in the classroom. School based mental health services provide an important piece of the puzzle as it relates to removing barriers to educational success.
An agency contracted with FCS will provide outpatient treatment for referred students in Franklin County Schools. Outpatient treatment will be rendered to students whose mental health challenges impair school, family, and/or community functioning.
Participation in this program is voluntary and students must have the written consent of their parent/legal guardian before services begin.
The school based mental health referral process starts with the School Counselor.
